THROWBACK TRACKS

Throwback Tracks is an archive of really great tracks from any genre and any era of music excluding the last 5 years or so because that, in my opinion, is still very recent & this section is for what you might call 'old music', which is why it is my favourite section. If you are only interested in things released in the last few years, check out my New Music Top Picks or Featured Albums sections, or alternatively keep reading/listening & learn a thing or two about old stuff that you might not have heard before. This section is mostly for obscure music (stuff that my real-life friends are unlikely to know, but if you found me online you're probably the sort of person who'll know all of these tracks), but there will be a few obvious classics in here too, like "The Purple People Eater" or "Heart Of Glass".

Oo-Ma-Liddi – J.J. Jackson and The Jackaels (1959)

The Purple People Eater – Sheb Wooley (1958)

96 Tears – ? And The Mysterians (1966)

Flirt – Pearl Harbour (1984)

Still haven't found myself a copy of this album, but I love this song. One to have on repeat, feel-good summer vibes. I love how much energy Pearl has.

Heart Of Glass – Blondie (1978)

Rockabilly Holiday – Duane Eddy (1987)

80s Duane Eddy, one of my favorite tracks of his.

Sweet Woman Blues – The Cramps (1981)

The Cramps covering Edwin Bruce, 1981 rehearsal, released on How To Make A Monster (2004). 2 CD set of rarities with particularly entertaining liner notes by Lux and Ivy.

Draggin' – Link Wray

Released on The Original Rumble (1989) on Ace Records.

Walkin' Back – Jan Davis (1966)

B-side of "The Time Funnel", another really great instrumental that I have to play again as soon as it ends.

Switchblade – Ron Thompson (1959)

I like to put this on the end of mixtapes for my friends just to see if the scream makes them jump. B-side "Hot Night" is pretty awesome too.
